I started a new section on the link rail to the right called 404. This are dead links to photo columns or photo blogs that have disapeared from their sites or have gone behind a pay wall. Here’s what’s on the list:
Welcome to the new photocolumn.org! I’m trying something a little different with the site. When I first became interested in photo columns it was really hard to find any examples of what a photo column was. So in 2002 I created this Web site and began publishing photo columns as a way to inspire and inform other photographers.
Now, thankfully, more and more newspapers are publishing photographer’s columns on their own web sites. And also giving photo staffs the chance to do photoblogs.
So to honor the changes over the last few years I’ve restructured photocolumn.org. You’ll find links to many photo columns on the web along with newspaper photoblogs. I hope to continue publishing examples of great photo columns but I’ll also try to add other information and news items. And finally as I have time I’ll be adding photo columns from the old site to the new archive. And hopefully continue to inspire those who want to communicate their vision and voice through story telling with photos and words.
